Unlike the more common Carl Gustaf m/96/38 cutdown conversions, this is a purpose-built, factory-born short rifle from Husqvarna's highly sought-after first full year of production (1 of only 28,642 built in 1941).
Key Feature: 100% All-Matching: Every critical component features the correct factory markings. Receiver serial number is 627474. The last three digits(474) match perfectly on the factory-bent bolt root, bolt sleeve, safety assembly, and shroud (mix of deep factory stamping and correct Swedish military arsenal electro-penciling on hardened bolt parts).
The Holy Grail Muzzle: Completely UNTHREADED. This barrel remains exactly as it left the factory in 1941; it was never retrofitted for a post-war blank-firing device. The Bore: Crisp, sharp, and brilliant. The original brass stock disk rates the baseline bore diameter at an ideal 6.50mm with a "1" stamped over the condition sector (indicating minimal shadowing in the grooves, superb rifling lands).
Rear Sight: Features the correct factory-original V-notch leaf graduated specifically for the short rifle from 150 to 600 meters. The Wood: Solid European beechwood stock with an honest military oil patina. Completely unmolested — never sanded, stained, or clear-coated.
Condition: Excellent, authentic military surplus condition. The original deep factory bluing is highly intact with only very minor, honest high-edge wear. Mechanically flawless with a buttery smooth Mauser action.
