Russian Mosin Nagant M44 Custom Scout Listing ID: 1587213
Description
This Mosin Nagant rifle has been gunsmithed to update the barrel and add a forward scout style scope base. The barrel has been removed from the receiver, machined and reinstalled so the following machining operations could be performed:
• The front of the barrel was trimmed back to remove any cleaning rod damage, thread the muzzle for 1/2x28 threads, target crown the muzzle and install a Mauser K98 hooded front sight.
• The rear of the barrel was trimmed and a fresh chamber was reamed. This removed any throat erosion and ensures the chamber is accurately machined.
• The exterior of the barrel near the receiver was slightly trimmed to precisely fit the Scout scope mount.
Other notable features include:
• The front flash hider is a modified flash hider from an L1A1 British FAL
• The rear sight is a Williams fiber optic sight.
• The Scout scope is a NcStar 2-7x32E with illuminated reticle. (I know its not a Schmidt & Bender scope but it does the job well.)
• The buttstock is fitted with a KICK-EEZ pad that makes it comfortable to shoot and increases the length of pull.
• The stock has been gently refinished and coated with numerous layers of tung oil. The result is a satin finish that is velvety to the touch. There are no cracks or splits in the stock. There is one original armory installed biscuit on the right hand side that can be seen in the photos.
Included with the rifle are 30 stripper clips that enable rapid reloading and two ammo pouches to hold the loaded stripper clips.
If the buyer of the rifle wants ammunition, I will offer to sell a sealed can of 440 rounds Hungarian silver tip 7.62x54R, with a can opener for $250. This ammunition is NOT being offered for sale otherwise.
